This will give your soldier a new class, new armor, and new weapons. In the Cybernetics Lab you can convert one of your soldiers into a MEC Trooper. This is a great place to spend some Meld. Gene Mods are definitely something you don't spend precious Meld on early unless I explicitly mention it in the guide. There are a few achievements tied to them, so you'll definitely get them, but I never really found they made my soldiers substantially better. To be honest, I don't really think the Gene Mods are worth it. Soldiers that have received Gene Mods will be unable to go on a mission for three days. The Lab will allow you to pick between two different modifications for five different body parts per soldier. New Multiplayer maps, units, and abilities: Create your custom squad from a wider array of options and dominate your opponent in intense, one-on-one, turn-based matches.You can upgrade your soldiers with Gene Mods once you build a Genetics Lab.
